Meet the Team

Julian Williams

Founder of Caulaincourt Gundogs and Training, and runs the field trial groups.

A big advocate of field sports, enjoying all types of shooting, conservation, and a part-time gamekeeper.

Competes and Judges in working tests and field trials.

Works regularly on small to large shoots picking up and beating. My favourite type of shooting is walked up on the Yorkshire moors.

Louisa Williams

Louisa is in charge of breeding, litters and matings. She excels in caring for pregnant bitches and the puppies they produce. Louisa also keeps us all fed well on training days with delicious cake!

Sylvie Smith

Sylvie joined the Caulaincourt Team over 4 years ago, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience in dog training.  Before working for Caulaincourt, she worked for Riverlily Working dogs in Hertfordshire. Sylvie is in charge of all the Classes run on a 6 week basis. She also provides numerous 1-1 training sessions.

Sylvie regularly shoots all disciplines of field sports, and picks up on local shoots with her team.

Neil Bracey

Neil joined the team after getting involved in picking up on a local shoot a few years ago. He is a firm believer in building a strong bond with your dog and thoroughly enjoys seeing the results from regular training.

Neil goes picking up during the shooting season, and pigeon shoots all year round. He is proud of what can be achieved, and it goes to show the benefits of training for both the handler and the dog.

He loves working outdoors and spending time in the countryside and get so much satisfaction in seeing others achieve the same results as he does with his dogs.

Sam Daniels

Sam has a lifelong passion for animals. She believes in positive , clear, and consistent training to achieve a well-rounded pet or working dog. Sam enjoys training, competing in working tests, and picking up with her own dogs. And in addition, competing with her horses.

Julia Sheldrake

Julia has always loved living in the countryside, and having grown up next door to the local gamekeeper had shooting, working dogs and conservation in her life from a young age.

After 10+ years working and showing Italian Spinoni, she has now returned to a life with Labrador retrievers – meeting the Caulaincourt team in 2020 when looking for a local training group.

We invited Julia to help with our classes, and she now enjoys working with handlers and dogs of all types to improve through positive training methods through both group lessons and 121s.

Julia also facilitates occasional workshops for HPRs on our varied training grounds.
